The Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project (SARP), implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Livestock and Irrigation, is actively recruiting qualified Sri Lankan citizens for several high-level specialist and support positions. Funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), this project aims to strengthen the economic resilience of rural households.
About the Project (SARP)
The Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project (SARP) is a USD 82 Million initiative designed to operate over six years (2021-2027). Its primary objective is to build resilience and enhance market participation for 40,000 rural households in climate-affected districts such as Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Matale, Mannar, Puttalam, and Kurunegala. The project operates through a central Project Management Unit (PMU) and regional hubs.
Role Overview
We are seeking professionals to join the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Battaramulla. The available roles range from strategic Specialists—who will design and oversee programs for youth entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and environmental safeguards—to Support Staff who will ensure smooth administrative operations. Selected candidates will play a crucial role in implementing foreign-funded development goals at the national level.

Qualifications & Requirements
General Qualifications:
- Qualifications and experience must be in accordance with Management Services Circular No. 01/2019.
- Proficiency in English and Computer Literacy is required.
- Prior working experience in foreign-funded projects is highly preferable.
- Age Limit: Below 64 years as of the closing date.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Youth Entrepreneurship Specialist: Develop strategies to achieve the 20% youth beneficiary target.
- Agri Business Specialist: Identify and facilitate 4P partnerships and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO).
- Livelihood Specialist: Implement livelihood resilience programs for 16,900 households.
- NRM & Safeguard Specialist: Manage social/environmental aspects and watershed planning.
- Communication Officer: Execute the project's communication and knowledge management strategy.
- Office Assistant: Handle filing, record keeping, and general office support.
