Educational Qualifications
For Sinhala/Tamil Translator:
- G.C.E. O/L: Credit passes in 4 subjects (including Mathematics and Sinhala/Tamil) in not more than two sittings.
- Second Language: Distinction pass in the Second Language (Sinhala/Tamil) at G.C.E. O/L.
- Degree: A degree with Tamil as a subject OR a postgraduate degree from a recognized university.
For Sinhala/English Translator:
- G.C.E. O/L: Credit passes in 5 subjects (including Mathematics, Sinhala/Tamil, and English) in not more than two sittings.
- Degree: A degree with English as a subject OR a postgraduate degree from a recognized university.
Professional Requirements
Candidates must possess a Computer/Technical course certificate (minimum 6 months duration, NVQ Level 03) from an institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
Selection Process
Recruitment will be based on a structured interview and a written test. Marks will be allocated for:
- Language Proficiency (Diploma/Degree level)
- Computer Proficiency
- Performance at the Interview
Written Test: Candidates must translate texts between relevant languages (e.g., Sinhala to English and vice versa).
