Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, the most awarded bank in Sri Lanka, is seeking a visionary leader for the position of Chief Data Officer (CDO). This is a Senior Management Role reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for driving the bank's AI-First transformation.
Job Role: Chief Data Officer
The CDO will lead the bank's data strategy, focusing on data monetization, governance, and the implementation of advanced architectures like Data Mesh and GenAI. Key responsibilities include:
- Data Strategy: Develop multi-year strategies aligned with business objectives.
- AI Transformation: Drive the "One Bank One Data" platform supporting Agentic AI and hyper-personalization.
- Governance: Oversee Master Data Management (MDM) and ensure compliance with BCBS 239, PDPA, and GDPR.
- Leadership: Establish a Data & Analytics Center of Excellence.
Applicant Profile
Candidates must meet the following elite criteria:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in CS, IT, or Data Science. (Master's/MBA highly preferred).

Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years in Data Management, Architecture, or BI.
- At least 05 years in a Senior Leadership role.
- Experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector is essential.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cloud Solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP), Data Mesh, and GenAI/RAG Architectures.
