The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has released the notification for the Efficiency Bar (EB) Examination for Officers in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Grama Niladhari Service (2026). The examination will be conducted by the Department of Examinations in April 2026.
Examination Details
This examination is compulsory for Grama Niladhari Officers in Grade III to proceed to the next salary step or grade. It will be held in 09 major cities including Colombo, Kandy, Galle, and Jaffna.
Exam Subjects
- 01. Office Systems & Accounts: (100 Marks) - Duration 02 Hours.
- 02. Subject Related Professional Knowledge: (100 Marks) - Duration 02 Hours.
- 03. Computer Test: (100 Marks) - Duration 1.5 Hours.
- Note: Officers with relevant Computer Degrees or NVQ qualifications may be exempted from the Computer Test.
Application Fees
- First Attempt: Free of Charge.
- Subsequent Attempts: Rs. 250/- per subject.
