The Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital (SJGH) Board is inviting applications from highly qualified specialist medical officers for several Consultant vacancies. These are prestigious permanent appointments for specialists with board certification from the PGIM.

Qualifications & Requirements

Eligibility criteria for the specialist posts:

  • Board Certification: Must possess MD/MS Board Certification in the relevant specialty from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo.
  • Registration: Must be registered in the Specialist Medical Register at the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) with a valid Specialist Registration Number.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should be not more than 50 years of age for permanent appointments. Applicants over 50 may be considered for contract-basis appointments.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale (L 03): Rs. 210,000 - 12 x 6,530 - 288,360/- per month.
  • Allowances: Standard government sector allowances plus additional allowances approved by the SJGH Board.
  • Terms: Permanent appointments (for those under 50) on a Provident Fund basis.
